Do I Need “Insulated” Hand Tools to do Electrical Work?

This is often posed as a question to us. If you are involved in any type of electrical work, insulated tools come highly recommended. (They may even come as a requirement depending upon the job). Remember that, just because your screwdriver or pliers have (RED) plastic handles, this doesn’t mean or guarantee they can and will insulate you from an electrical shock. (ZAP)

Insulated tools are designed to protect you against injury in the event that you make contact with an energized source. Every insulated tool must be marked with the year it was insulated and an official 1,000-volt rating symbol, which ensures you will be protected for live use up to 1,000 VAC or 1,500 VDC (there are TOO many fake & (cheap and nasty) tools that are actually a health hazard. Put your trust in a reputable company you know, and buy a brand you can trust!

Manufactured and individually certified to EN 60900

Expert Quality, tested to 10kV, suitable for working on live circuits of 1kV AC and 1.5kV DC. Pliers are drop forged from chrome vanadium steel correctly hardened and tempered with additionally induction hardened cutting edges. Each of the pliers have been individually tested to 10,000V for safe 1000V AC or 1500V DC live line working. Lacquered finish for corrosion protection with heavy duty, fully insulated, soft grip handles with slip guards.
